Detox diets are based on the idea that toxins build up in the body and can be removed by eating, or not eating, certain things. However, there’s no evidence that toxins build up in our bodies. If they did, we would feel very ill. They are, in effect, a form of modified fasting. But then there are those that swear by them, saying they feel much better and lighter for using them, claiming they are a great way to lose weight.
